Procurement, Stores and Facilities Manager

Due to continued growth, TF Jones is looking to appoint a commercially minded Procurement, Stores and Facilities Manager to help drive efficiency, cost control and operational excellence across the business.

This is a varied and hands-on management opportunity for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with a practical approach to problem solving. You'll take ownership of procurement, stock management, stores operations and site facilities, ensuring the business secures the best possible value while maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.

With more than 50 years of delivering fire safety and building compliance solutions, TF Jones has built a reputation for quality, professionalism and long-term client relationships. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for someone who can challenge the status quo, build strong supplier partnerships and continually improve the way we operate.

The Role

You'll be responsible for leading the company's procurement, stores and facilities functions, ensuring materials, equipment and services are purchased competitively, stock is effectively managed and our premises continue to operate safely and efficiently.

This role is about much more than purchasing. You'll continually review how we work, challenge expenditure, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and deliver practical solutions that support the wider business.

Your responsibilities will include:

Procuring stock items and project-specific materials.
Negotiating with suppliers to secure the best commercial pricing, service levels and delivery terms.
Challenging costs and identifying opportunities to reduce expenditure without compromising quality or service.
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships while ensuring the business achieves value for money.
Monitoring purchasing trends and identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce waste.
Managing stock levels to ensure materials are available while avoiding unnecessary stock holding.
Maintaining accurate inventory records using the company's stock management system.
Receiving and checking deliveries, investigating discrepancies and ensuring goods are stored correctly.
Preparing materials for engineers and project teams accurately and efficiently.
Opening the stores each morning and operating the forklift safely (training will be provided if required).
Managing commercial utility contracts and negotiating competitive rates.
Arranging utility renewals, submitting meter readings and monitoring ongoing expenditure.
Coordinating routine site maintenance and facilities management.
Managing waste disposal and ensuring the stores, warehouse and yard remain safe, organised and efficient.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiency and simplify business processes.
Supporting colleagues across the wider business wherever required.

We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building strong supplier relationships and making commercially sound decisions that positively impact the business.

Essential

Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.
Strong commercial negotiation skills.
Experience managing supplier relationships.
Good understanding of stock control and inventory management.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong commercial awareness with the confidence to challenge costs and identify savings.
Good IT skills and experience using stock management systems.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

Experience within construction, engineering or building services.
Forklift licence (or willingness to undertake training).
Experience managing facilities or commercial utilities.
