Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and elevate our dining experience. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations, and team management to ensure exceptional quality and consistency. Your culinary expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to food safety will drive the success of our cafe, creating memorable experiences for our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and operational excellence in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Oversee food production processes to ensure high-quality dishes are prepared efficiently and consistently
Manage food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation standards across all menu items
Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and our farm shop ethos while maintaining operational feasibility
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain rigorous cleanliness standards in the kitchen
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service and uphold guest satisfaction
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize profitability
Train staff on culinary techniques, food safety practices, and service standards to promote continuous improvement

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting with a strong focus on food production
Extensive culinary experience with a comprehensive understanding of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively
Solid kitchen experience including managing multiple stations and overseeing large-scale food service operations
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations essential for maintaining a safe working environment
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to coordinate across departments
Previous restaurant experience with a track record of delivering exceptional dining experiences is highly desirable

Working Hours

No split shifts
No regular evening work (occasional events evenings)
Weekend working required

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
