Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organisation. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid understanding of accounts payable processes. The Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper will assist with data entry, maintain accurate financial records, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

Duties

Managing accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy to maintain up-to-date financial records.
Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Sage Payroll for various financial transactions.
Month-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and reconciliations.
Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
Maintain organised documentation for all financial transactions and correspondence.
Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding accounts payable and other financial matters.

Requirements

Previous experience in a finance or accounting role .
Proficiency in accounting software Sage, Sage Payroll, Pensions
Proficiency in P.A.Y.E and VAT
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial services.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
