Job Summary

The Customer Service Administrator supports the day-to-day operations of the depot by monitoring freight movements, coordinating deliveries and collections, handling customer enquiries, and providing efficient administrative support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent organisational skills, and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and track the location and progress of freight shipments.
Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of deliveries and collections.
Liaise with drivers, customers, and operational teams to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, visitors, and incoming communications.
Provide exceptional customer service via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
Respond to customer queries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
Assist in minimising operational delays through proactive communication and problem-solving.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard.
Carry out general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
Support the wider depot team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Undertake any additional duties or projects as required by management.

Experience

Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in an administrative and/or customer service role.
Previous experience within the transport, logistics, or distribution sector is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Strong IT and administrative skills.
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of transport or logistics operations would be an advantage.

Education

A minimum of A Levels (or equivalent) is required.
A degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
