Full job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven IT Assistant to join our team at GCB Cocoa UK. This role would suit a recent graduate or someone looking for their next step in frontline IT support.

You will provide first line and second line technical support across the business, helping to maintain reliable IT services for users. Working alongside the UK and Global IT teams, you will assist with day-to-day support, system administration, device management, cybersecurity initiatives and IT improvement projects.

Required skills and qualifications:

Relevant IT qualification, degree or equivalent practical experience.
Previous IT support experience through employment, apprenticeship or graduate role.
Experience supporting PC hardware, peripherals, basic networking and server infrastructure.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, basic networking
Understanding PC hardware and troubleshooting tools
Experience working with ticketing systems is a plus

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving skills
Good communication and teamwork
Customer-oriented and able to multi-task

Key Responsibilities / Core Activities

A. Technical Support

Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and Microsoft 365 issues.
Handle user requests via ticketing system and ensure timely resolution.

B. System & Network Support

Assist in monitoring and maintaining LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall systems.
Support routine network checks and escalate issues when required.
Assist with server monitoring, backup checks, and maintenance.

C. IT Asset Management

Maintain and update IT asset inventory.
Install, configure, and deploy new hardware and software.
Ensure proper documentation and tracking of IT equipment.

D. User Management

Assist in user account creation/modification in Microsoft 365, AD, and applications.
Support onboarding/offboarding (equipment setup, access rights).

E. Security & Compliance

Enforce IT security best practices (password policy, MFA, antivirus, patching).
Perform regular updates and monitoring of security tools.
Report suspicious activities or security incidents.

F. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain IT documentation (SOPs, network diagrams, asset list).
Assist in preparing monthly IT reports and assist with internal audits.

G. Project Support

Assist in IT projects such as upgrades, network expansion, hardware refresh.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers.

Working Pattern:

08.00 - 17.00, Monday - Friday (1 hour lunch break)

23 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising to 25 days after 2 years’ service.
