Full job description

The Role

Unique Van Lining & Accessories is looking for an experienced and personable Sales Administrator to join our team in Ossett. This is an important customer-facing role within a busy sales and operations environment, supporting our customers from initial enquiry through to booking, administration and completion.

For us, this role is about more than processing orders and completing administration accurately. We want someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with people, is confident and engaging on the telephone, and understands how good communication can build long-term customer relationships and strengthen the reputation of the business.

You will join an established sales administration team and work closely with colleagues across sales, planning, workshop and field operations. The right person will complement the existing team, bring positive energy to the office and help us deliver a consistently professional, friendly and responsive experience for our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

Act as a friendly and professional point of contact for customers by telephone and email.

Build positive working relationships with customers, understanding their requirements and keeping them informed.

Handle customer enquiries confidently and ensure queries are followed through rather than simply passed on.

Support the sales process with quotations, bookings, order administration and general customer communication.

Complete accurate data entry and maintain customer and order information on internal systems.

Use Microsoft Office and other business systems for document creation, scheduling and communication.

Work closely with planning, workshop, field fitting and management teams to help ensure customer commitments are delivered.

Maintain organised electronic and physical records.

Provide general administrative support to the wider team during busy periods.

Contribute positively to the office environment and help maintain the professional standards our customers expect.

The Person We Are Looking For

Personality and communication style are particularly important for this appointment. We are looking for someone who is naturally comfortable speaking with customers and colleagues and who can combine a warm, approachable manner with good organisation and attention to detail.

Confident, personable and naturally engaging on the telephone.

Able to build rapport quickly and develop effective customer relationships.

Professional and credible when representing the business.

Positive, helpful and willing to take ownership of customer enquiries.

A strong team player who will fit well within an established office team.

Organised and able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment.

Accurate and attentive when completing administrative and data-entry tasks.

Comfortable working independently when required and using initiative.

Reliable, adaptable and willing to support colleagues when priorities change.

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in sales administration, customer service, sales support or a similar customer-facing office role is essential.

Experience within the automotive, LCV, fleet, dealership or commercial vehicle sector would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Previous experience dealing directly with customers by telephone is highly desirable.
