Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to uphold safety and security standards across our premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the site, preventing loss, and ensuring a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets. This role offers an opportunity to work within a professional setting, contributing to the safety of our organisation through proactive surveillance and incident management.

Duties

Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks.
Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras, to oversee activity and detect suspicious behaviour.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and reporting theft or vandalism.
Respond promptly to security incidents, including alarms or emergencies, following established protocols.
Maintain detailed logs of activities, incidents, and observations for record-keeping purposes.
Assist visitors and staff with directions or inquiries in a courteous manner.
Administer first aid when necessary until emergency services arrive.
Enforce site policies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Prior experience in security or surveillance is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is desirable.
Basic first aid certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.
Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical fitness to perform patrols and stand for extended periods.
A valid security licence or certification as required by local regulations is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.

Pay: From £12.95 per hour
