Job Overview

We are seeking a professional, alert, and customer-focused Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in controlling site access, maintaining security at the gatehouse, and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and the general public. This role requires a valid frontline SIA licence, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in a busy, public-facing environment.

Hours of Work:

06:00-18:00 / Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

Control and monitor access to the site, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles are permitted entry
Greet visitors professionally, verify identification, and issue passes where required
Maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident logs
Conduct regular foot patrols of the site as required
Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following site procedures
Deal confidently and courteously with members of the public, contractors, and staff
Escalate incidents and liaise with supervisors or emergency services when necessary
Ensure full compliance with company policies, site instructions, and health & safety regulations
Conduct searches when needed and following correct process if any anomalies are found

Experience & Skills

Previous experience in a gatehouse, access-control, or manned guarding role is essential
Strong observational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage conflict and remain professional under pressure

Essential Requirements

Valid frontline SIA licence (SG/DS)
Experience in a public-facing security role
Strong communication and conflict management skills
Physically fit and mentally resilient, with the ability to carry out regular foot patrols
Professional appearance, punctuality, and a positive attitude

Pay: £12.71 per hour
