Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to advance their career in the culinary arts.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
Support the daily operation of the kitchen, including, ingredient organisation, and stock management
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations
Contribute to the creation of innovative dishes and menu items as directed by the head chef
Ensure all food production activities comply with health and safety protocols
Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation to minimise waste

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production, cooking, or kitchen environments, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience or team management skills are advantageous
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation and preparation
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow instructions accurately
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant roles is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
