Care Team Leader – Supported Living & Community Services

Cherish Able Care is looking for an energetic, ambitious and positive person to develop into an outstanding Care Team Leader.
You may already be working as a Senior Support Worker or Field Supervisor. Alternatively, you may be an excellent Support Worker who knows you are capable of more but has not yet been given the opportunity to progress.
We can teach you our systems, processes and approach. We can help you develop your leadership skills and gain further qualifications. What we cannot teach is ambition, reliability, personal drive or a genuinely positive attitude—and those are the qualities we value most.
Previous management experience is welcome, but it is not essential. We are looking for someone with the character, values and potential to become an excellent leader.
About Cherish Able Care
Cherish Able Care provides personalised care and support across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath and surrounding areas.
We support adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and other complex or individual support needs.

This is a varied, hands-on leadership role. You will be visible within our services, working alongside staff, getting to know the people we support and helping teams deliver consistently excellent care.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk. It is an opportunity to influence practice, develop staff and help shape high-quality services.
What will you be doing?
With structured training, mentoring and support from our management team, you will:
- Lead, motivate and support staff across different care and support services.
- Provide visible leadership within supported-living and community-based services.
- Complete staff supervisions, observations, competency assessments and spot checks.
- Help new staff develop their confidence and competence.
- Promote a positive, accountable and person-centred working culture.
- Monitor standards of care and address concerns promptly and professionally.
- Develop and review care plans, support plans and risk assessments.
- Complete quality, compliance and service-delivery audits.
- Respond to incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are completed.
- Recognise, report and help manage safeguarding concerns.
- Support assessments, transitions and the development of new care packages.
- Help establish new supported-living and community-based services.
- Communicate confidently with people receiving support, families, staff, professionals and commissioners.
- Visit services across Bristol and surrounding areas.
- Provide practical support within services when operationally required.
- Promote safe, consistent and high-quality care across the organisation.
You will not be expected to know everything on your first day. We will provide a structured induction, ongoing mentoring and clear competencies to help you grow into the complete Care Team Leader role.

Essential requirements
- Experience in care, support work or a closely related role.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- A genuine interest in supporting adults with a range of needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence and potential to lead, guide and support other staff.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using digital systems and completing accurate records.
- Flexibility to work according to operational requirements.
- Willingness to travel between services and community locations.
- Permission to work at least 40 hours per week in a permanent role in the UK without employer sponsorship.
A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential. We will consider an exceptional candidate who is willing to work towards an appropriate qualification.

The starting rate will reflect the successful candidate’s current experience and competence. Progression within the pay range will be linked to successful completion of probation, training and agreed Team Leader competencies.

Applicants must already have permission to work at least 40 hours per week in a permanent role in the UK.
Cherish Able Care cannot provide visa sponsorship for this position, either now or in the future. We are therefore unable to consider applicants whose current immigration conditions limit them to 20 hours of work per week or who require employer sponsorship.
