Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while leading a team of staff members. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education and childcare. The Nursery Manager will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to promote the overall success of the nursery.

Duties

Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
Lead, motivate, and support a team of childcare professionals and support staff
Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to children's developmental needs
Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and wellbeing
Ensure health and safety policies are strictly adhered to within the nursery environment
Organise activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
Manage administrative tasks including record keeping, budgeting, and resource planning
Foster a positive team culture centred on professional growth and excellent childcare standards

Requirements

Proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
Experience working directly with children in childcare or nursery environments
Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation purposes if required by the role
Level 3 qualified or above essential.
