About the Role

We are currently seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our small but busy team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a successful and growing property management business.

As Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Director and Office Manager, performing a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. You will support all aspects of financial administration and help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the business.

This is a challenging yet rewarding position, requiring strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a varied workload.

Key Responsibilities

Processing daily rental income using the PayProp banking platform and actively managing rent arrears
Creating and issuing invoices, monitoring payments, and chasing overdue amounts
Processing and paying contractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
Accurately recording all financial transactions using QuickBooks accounting software
Managing payroll, including salaries, P45, P60, P11D, pension contributions, and liaising with HMRC
Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
Ensuring payments due from Non-Resident Landlords are made in accordance with HMRC requirements
Reconciling bank accounts
Managing petty cash and processing staff expenses

Key Requirements

Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
Strong numerical and analytical skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Good working knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks preferred)
Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
Strong organisational and communication skills
An understanding of the private rented sector would be advantageous
