Our dedicated multidisciplinary team—including carers, physiotherapists, nurses, hydration assistants, domestics, and activity coordinators—work collaboratively to enrich the daily lives of our residents.

The Role – Physiotherapy Assistant

Physiotherapy plays a vital role in promoting independence, mobility, and overall wellbeing within our home. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will support the Physiotherapist in delivering personalised rehabilitation programmes tailored to each resident’s needs.

You will help residents to maintain and improve their physical abilities through guided exercises, mobility support, and the safe use of specialist equipment. From assisting with rehabilitation following injury to supporting long-term neurological conditions, you will play a key part in helping residents rebuild confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes.

You will also ensure that therapy interventions are carried out safely, effectively, and with dignity—monitoring progress, encouraging participation, and adapting support to meet individual abilities and goals.

What you will be doing:

Deliver hands-on physiotherapy support, carrying out tailored exercise programmes and mobility practice prescribed by the Physiotherapist.
Empower residents to achieve their rehabilitation goals—promoting independence, confidence, and dignity every step of the way.
Support the safe setup, use, and ongoing monitoring of specialist equipment, including sleep systems, splints, seating, standing frames, and mobility aids.
Build strong, trusting relationships with residents—motivating, encouraging, and supporting them to stay engaged and positive throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Act as the eyes and ears of the therapy team, observing and reporting any changes in mobility, physical ability, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing.

What We’re Looking For…

A genuine interest in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and supporting individuals to achieve greater independence.
The ability to support the delivery of physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes under guidance.
An understanding of, or willingness to learn, postural management and the use of specialist equipment such as sleep systems, splints, and seating.
Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
Confidence working both independently within agreed competencies and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A friendly, motivated, and professional approach, with a positive and proactive attitude.

Desirable

Previous experience in a healthcare, physiotherapy, or rehabilitation setting.
A relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent).
Basic knowledge of anatomy, mobility, and rehabilitation principles.
A flexible approach to working patterns and routines.
