About McGarry Contracts
McGarry Contracts is an established residential building contractor specialising in high-quality renovations, extensions and bespoke new-build homes across London and the South East.
We undertake a limited number of projects at any one time, allowing us to maintain a high standard of workmanship, attention to detail and close working relationships with our clients. The Role
We're looking for an experienced multi-skilled builder to join our team on a high-quality residential project in Aylesford, Kent.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with a genuine residential construction background. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who is happy to work alongside different trades and turn their hand to a wide range of construction tasks as the project progresses.
Typical duties will include:
- General building work
- Assisting with carpentry and timber frame construction
- Installing plasterboard and cement board
- General first and second fix building tasks
- Assisting bricklayers and other trades when required
- Preparing areas for paving and external works
- Making good and finishing works
- Using your initiative to help keep the project moving
This is not a handyman or property maintenance role. We're looking for someone with practical site experience who understands residential construction and enjoys working as part of a professional team.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working on residential construction sites.
- Has a broad understanding of general building methods and site practices.
- Is confident using hand and power tools.
- Is reliable, hardworking and takes pride in producing good-quality work.
- Is happy to work alongside different trades and turn their hand to a variety of tasks.
- Can use their own initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Has their own tools and transport.
CSCS card preferred but not essential.
