Job Overview

With over 20 offices and depots across the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe, Blok ‘N’ Mesh is a premier manufacturer, supplier, and installer of temporary fencing, hoarding, and barrier systems. Producing over 1.6 million units annually, we set industry standards in both innovation and sustainability, serving diverse sectors from construction and events to security and infrastructure.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our Braintree team. The successful candidate will support daily financial operations, assist with bookkeeping, and ensure accurate financial record-keeping. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within a dynamic organisation, providing valuable experience in financial administration and support. The position is paid and suitable for both entry-level applicants and those with relevant experience seeking to expand their skills.

Duties

Assist with processing invoices, receipts, and expense claims accurately and efficiently
Support the preparation of financial reports and statements
Maintain organised financial records and filing systems
Reconcile accounts and bank statements on a regular basis
Support payroll processing by verifying timesheets and related documentation
Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal departments regarding financial queries
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as required
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
Contribute to continuous improvement of finance procedures and processes

Skills

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Good numerical ability and proficiency in basic accounting principles
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is advantageous but not essential
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
Prior experience in a finance or administrative role is desirable but not mandatory
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
