Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and support the head chef in maintaining high standards of service and safety within a busy hospitality environment.

Duties

Assist the head chef in planning and developing menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage to minimise waste.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment.
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff under pressure.
Solid background in food safety practices and hygiene regulations.
Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Good understanding of food presentation and serving standards.
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not mandatory for highly experienced candidates. This role is perfect for passionate culinary professionals eager to advance their career within a vibrant hospitality environment while delivering outstanding dining experiences.
