Full job description

RABBLE Theatre is a Reading-based charity who tell local stories of national significance and champion women. We are strongly committed to diversity, inclusion and accessibility across all aspects of our work. Our education programmes engage over 2,000 young people and adults each year, with 114 supported in the last 12 months by the RABBLE Access Fund. We build skills, confidence and community strength. Our 2023 production of Henry I was named a Top 5 UK production in The Telegraph, whilst the national tour of Glitch in 2026 received 25 four and five star reviews.

Part Time Arts Administrator (approx. 15 hours per week)

The Arts Administrator will support the day-to-day operations of RABBLE Theatre, ensuring smooth delivery of education programmes, productions and community initiatives. This part-time, hybrid role is based in Reading, with a combination of on-site work and some work from home. Key responsibilities include co-ordinating schedules, bookings and venue arrangements; maintaining accurate records and databases; and assisting with budgeting, invoicing and financial tracking. The role will also support communications and marketing activities, such as preparing newsletters, updating the website and social media and liaising with partners, schools, participants, parents and audiences. The Arts Administrator will collaborate closely with the artistic and education teams, contribute to fundraising and reporting tasks, and help ensure that activities reflect RABBLE’s values of inclusion, accessibility and community engagement.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

● Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.

● At least one year’s experience in an administrative, customer service, or office support role (within the cultural/creative sector is desirable.)

● Knowledge or interest in art, theatre, or performing arts, with an appreciation of their role in community and cultural life.

● Experience or interest in arts education, community engagement, or delivering learning programs in creative settings is desirable.

● Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

● Comfortable with digital tools and software (e.g. Microsoft office, Google Workspace, financial and design software, social media platforms).

● Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, access and diversity in the arts; prior experience in community or charitable organisations is an advantage.
