Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Apprentice Bench Joiner to join our skilled woodworking team. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in bespoke furniture and fixture fabrication, working alongside experienced joiners. The role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about carpentry and construction to develop their skills within a professional environment. The Apprentice Bench Joiner will be involved in various stages of joinery projects, contributing to the creation of high-quality woodwork products.

Duties

Assisting in the fabrication and assembly of bespoke joinery items, including cabinets, doors, and furniture components
Operating hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery safely and efficiently under supervision
Measuring, marking out, and cutting timber and other materials with precision
Supporting the team in the installation and finishing of joinery products on-site or within workshop settings
Maintaining a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety standards are upheld
Learning to interpret technical drawings and specifications to assist with accurate production
Participating in quality control checks to ensure finished products meet company standards

Skills

Basic understanding of fabrication, assembly, and carpentry techniques
Familiarity with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers
Experience or knowledge of power tools used in joinery and woodworking processes
Awareness of joinery principles including cabinetry, framing, and fitting techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for handling materials or components
Knowledge of construction painting, roofing, plumbing, masonry, or electrical work is advantageous but not essential
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the workshop environment

Pay: From £8.00 per hour
