Full job description

Job Description

To visit Dawson Housing properties daily, carry out inspections, complete paperwork, and ensure any issues are reported and resolved.

You will build positive relationships with tenants, local communities, Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police, and other local organisations. You will act as a visible representative of Dawson Housing and help ensure our residents remain safe and supported at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Property Visits

Visit Dawson Housing properties on a daily basis.
Carry out property inspections and complete inspection reports.
Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues, and health and safety concerns.
Check communal areas are safe, clean, and well maintained.
Follow up on issues to ensure they are resolved.

Tenant Engagement

Build positive relationships with tenants.
Be a friendly and approachable point of contact.
Listen to concerns and report issues to the relevant team.
Encourage tenants to engage positively within their community.

Partnership Working

Develop and maintain good working relationships with:
Birmingham City Council
West Midlands Police
Local community groups
Support agencies
Attend meetings when required.
Represent Dawson Housing professionally at all times.

Administration

Complete inspection forms, reports, and other paperwork accurately and on time.
Keep records up to date.
Use Dawson Housing systems to record visits, inspections, and actions taken.
Ensure all information is handled confidentially and in line with GDPR requirements.

General Duties

Attend team meetings and training sessions.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation.
Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the organisation.

Person Specification

Essential

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage your workload.
Ability to complete reports and paperwork accurately.
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
Experience working with members of the public in a front facing role.
Ability to build positive relationships with tenants and partner organisations.
Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

Experience working in housing, property management, security, community engagement, or a similar role.
Experience carrying out property inspections or estate monitoring.
Understanding of social housing and tenancy-related issues.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
Experience working with local authorities, police, or community organisations.
Current SIA Licence (Door Supervisor, Security Guarding or equivalent).
