Full job description

If you like practical things like servicing and cleaning equipment, this is the role for you. You’ll make our wheelchairs clean and safe for people to get moving again after illness or injury. Ideally you will live within 10 miles of the the British Red Cross office in Gortrush Industrial Estate, Omagh, BT78 5EJ. We would like you to: - be available to volunteer on a regular weekly basis. - commit to 4 or 5 hours a week on any week day 10am to 2pm. - commit to volunteering for a minimum of 12 months. - have good use and understanding of English. - have a good level of fitness and health to be able to move wheelchairs and other equipment. **Diversity** Diversity is something we celebrate. Why we want you: We need volunteers to clean and maintain our equipment. We believe that everyone who needs a wheelchair should get one and each year we hire out or loan over 75,000 wheelchairs to help people to get around after an injury or illness. You will be joining a friendly team and will have the satisfaction of ensuring that a clean, safe piece of equipment is ready for the next person.

Tasks: Clean, maintain and service our wheelchairs and other equipment.

Help to load/unload wheelchairs.

Use a computer-based stock control system.

Skills: Practical and able to undertake cleaning/maintenance tasks.

Physically fit and able to lift/move wheelchairs.

Good IT skills.

Able to commit to a regular weekly shift.
