We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Leicester, a catergory B men's prison located in the center of Leicester.

Hours
The site currently offers a Monday - Sunday: 7:30 am - 6:00 pm or 7:30 am -8:30 pm

Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29,723 per annum.

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care
Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.
You’ll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.
You will contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics.
Be invovled with anything from health promotion clinics and observations to supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.

Qualifications required

NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Excellent communication skills
Good IT skills and IT literacy
Ability to work within a busy environment
Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment
