Full job description

Are you a talented and ambitious culinary professional looking for an exciting opportunity in the world of weddings and events? Join our team as a Sous Chef at our beautiful wedding venue Danby Castle Barn.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate professional to support our Head Chef in leading the kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences. You will play a key role in menu development, food preparation, and kitchen operations. You'll collaborate closely with the Head Chef to inspire and mentor our kitchen staff, fostering a creative and efficient environment. Requirements

Previous professional kitchen experience at Chef de Partie level or above.
Must hold a Food Hygiene Level 3 certificate or be willing to obtain one prior to starting the role.
Strong leadership and delegation skills.
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
Full right to work in the UK.
Full UK driving licence and own transport preferred due to venue location.
Reliable, diligent, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and help deliver exceptional food and service for weddings and events at Danby Castle Barn.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting compliance with Safer Food, Better Business (SFBB) and all food safety procedures.
Assisting in maintaining full compliance with Environmental Health Officer (EHO) standards, including accurate record keeping and daily checks.
Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes to a consistently high standard.
Supporting and coordinating food preparation alongside the Head Chef.
Assisting with menu development and seasonal menu planning.
Supervising and supporting junior kitchen staff.
Assisting with stock control, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
Helping resolve issues efficiently during service and maintaining smooth kitchen operations.
Supporting the training and development of junior chefs.
Monitoring and maintaining kitchen equipment and cleanliness standards.
Maintaining accurate administration records, both electronically and in hard copy.
Supporting wider kitchen operations and covering key duties during periods of absence within the team.

Salary

£34,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: Up to £34,000.00 per year
