Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity for career development within a vibrant hospitality environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food production
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Train new team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Monitor food safety practices throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
Support the team during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service experiences for guests

Skills

Proven experience within a busy kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food production and presentation
Proficient in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality establishments
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and management
Knowledge of serving standards and customer service principles is advantageous
