Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring well-being. The Support Worker will be responsible for implementing care plans, maintaining effective communication, and fostering a safe and supportive environment. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to support others.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility, and medication management in accordance with individual care plans
Support clients in maintaining their independence and dignity within care home or home care environments
Follow prescribed care plans accurately and report any changes or concerns to senior staff
Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment
Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, families, and team members
Assist with light domestic tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation as required
Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times, including safe handling of equipment and mobility aids
Document all support provided accurately in accordance with organisational policies

Qualifications

Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting clients in their homes or transporting them when necessary
Good understanding of care plans and ability to follow instructions precisely
Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, organised, and able to handle sensitive situations professionally
