Full job description

Role Title: Quality Assurance Assessor

Department: Operations / Customer Experience / Compliance

Location: Sheffield United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Reporting To: Quality Assurance & Training Manager

Salery: up to £32k

Role Purpose

The Quality Assurance Assessor is responsible for evaluating customer interactions, processes, and outcomes against defined quality standards and regulatory requirements within a UK financial services environment.

The role supports the delivery of fair customer outcomes by providing accurate assessments, actionable feedback, and insight to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with the organisation’s competence framework.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Delivery

Conduct structured QA assessments across calls, written communications, and processes.
Apply QA scorecards consistently in line with defined standards and calibration outcomes.
Ensure all evaluations align with regulatory expectations (e.g., FCA, Consumer Duty).
Accurately document findings within the QA platform (EvaluAgent).

Feedback & Coaching Support

Deliver clear, constructive, and evidence-based feedback to frontline employees.
Highlight strengths, risks, and development areas.
Support team leaders with coaching insights and recommendations.
Contribute to calibration sessions to ensure consistency across assessors.

Data Analysis & Insight

Identify trends, recurring issues, and root causes from QA activity.
Escalate risks, compliance breaches, or conduct concerns promptly.
Support the production of QA reporting and management information (MI).
Provide insight to inform training and competence development needs.

Competence Framework Support

Assess employee performance against defined competence framework standards.
Provide evidence to support competence sign-off decisions where applicable.
Highlight gaps in capability and support targeted development interventions.
Ensure all assessments are accurately recorded for audit and regulatory purposes.

EvaluAgent Platform Usage

Maintain accurate and timely records within EvaluAgent.
Use system functionality effectively for scoring, reporting, and workflow management.
Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on system usage and enhancements.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure all QA activity meets internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain audit-ready documentation.
Support internal and external audit processes where required.
Promote a culture of quality, compliance, and good customer outcomes.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

Experience in a QA, compliance, or operational role within UK financial services.
Strong understanding of FCA requirements and customer outcome principles.
Experience assessing customer interactions (calls, casework, or complaints).
High attention to detail and ability to apply scoring criteria consistently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience using EvaluAgent.

Desirable

Knowledge of competence frameworks and accreditation processes.
Experience in a contact centre or regulated environment.
