Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tyre Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle tyres, possess mechanical aptitude, and be capable of delivering excellent customer service. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, performing tyre replacements, repairs, and maintenance tasks to ensure vehicle safety and optimal performance. The position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional workshop setting.

Duties

Remove and replace tyres on various types of vehicles using hand tools and power tools
Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and tear; advise customers on suitable replacements or repairs
Balance tyres to ensure smooth operation and minimise vibration during driving
Perform routine maintenance tasks related to tyre fitting equipment and workshop cleanliness
Assist with wheel alignment and other vehicle maintenance procedures as required
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Provide excellent customer service by explaining work carried out and addressing customer queries effectively

Requirements

Mechanical knowledge with experience in tyre fitting or automotive maintenance preferred
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling tyres and wheels (up to 23kg or more)
Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards
Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
Prior experience in vehicle maintenance or related field is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
