About ARU:

About the Role:

Based in our Employability Services team at Cambridge, you will play a key role in helping students gain valuable work-based learning experiences that enhance their future career prospects. As a Work-Based Learning (WBL) Officer, you will support students to secure and succeed in placements, work experience opportunities and other work-based learning activities. Working closely with students, employers and academic colleagues, you will help identify and promote placement opportunities, coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, provide ongoing support throughout placements, and contribute to the delivery of employability events and workshops. You will also act as a key point of contact for students and employers. Alongside this, you will also support the front-line operations of the Service, and contribute towards providing a welcoming first point of contact for students and stakeholders. You will deliver first-line careers information and employability advice, support Service events, and contribute to the creation of engaging digital and social media content that promotes opportunities and services across the University. The role will be on campus at least 80% of the week.

With a degree, a relevant professional qualification at degree level, or substantial relevant experience supported by evidence of continuing professional development, you will be a proactive and customer-focused individual with experience in student support, placement coordination, recruitment or a similar environment. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, confidence in building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and experience of using digital systems and databases to support service delivery. Able to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines, you will be comfortable supporting students while maintaining accurate records and delivering a high standard of customer service. Knowledge of the challenges facing students and graduates as they prepare for employment and develop workplace skills would be beneficial. Most importantly, you will be committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and outstanding experience that enables students to achieve their potential and succeed in the workplace.
