Job Summary:

The Structural Steel Welder is responsible for assembling and welding structural steel components according to drawings, and specifications. This position requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, materials, and safety standards to ensure high-quality and structurally sound finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret shop drawings, and welding symbols.

Set up, position, and secure steel components for welding.

Perform various welding processes.

Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.

Grind, cut, and fit components as needed to prepare for welding or assembly.

Operate equipment such as cutting torches, grinders, and saws.

Follow all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies.

Perform maintenance and cleaning of welding tools and equipment.

Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements

Proven experience in structural steel welding is essential.
Proficiency in welding techniques, particularly mig welding, is essential.
Strong knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in fabrication processes.
Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are required.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
