Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester and Mechanic to join our expanding garage, we’ve just fitted a brand new class 4 and 7 mot bay. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests, diagnosing vehicle issues, and performing repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a commitment to quality service. The position is paid and suitable for applicants with relevant experience or qualifications in vehicle maintenance and testing.

Responsibilities

Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and safety standards
Diagnose mechanical issues using specialised tools and equipment
Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models
Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively and safely
Assist with vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
Carry out heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as needed
Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used
Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations

Qualifications

Proven experience as a mechanic or MOT tester, with relevant qualifications or certifications recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and customers
Valid UK driving licence is essential for mobility around the workshop and customer sites

This role is ideal for dedicated automotive professionals seeking a rewarding position within a reputable service centre.
