About Us

Chester City Baths is a welcoming, community-focused leisure facility. We pride ourselves on providing high‑quality swimming lessons in a friendly and supportive environment. We are currently looking for Level 2 Qualified Swimming Teachers to join our small, dedicated aquatics team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build or develop a career within the leisure industry.

Role Overview:

As a Swimming Teacher, you will be responsible for the safe, engaging and progressive delivery of swimming lessons to children and adults of varying abilities. You will play a key role in developing swimmers’ confidence, competence and water safety awareness while maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high‑quality swimming lessons in line with the agreed programme and individual needs of participants
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all swimmers at all times
Promote water safety, confidence and enjoyment in the water
Adapt teaching methods to suit different ages and abilities
Monitor and assess swimmers’ progress, providing appropriate feedback
Set up, check and safely use equipment before and during sessions
Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and colleagues
Maintain a professional, friendly and inclusive atmosphere

Essential Requirements:

Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification
Current DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to safeguarding and health & safety
Passion for teaching swimming and supporting learner development

Desirable:

Previous experience teaching swimming to children and/or adults
NRASTC/NPLQ Qualification
