Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Millboard Decking Installer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing high-quality decking solutions, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, applying a range of construction techniques and specialised skills. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Measure and prepare sites for decking installation in accordance with project specifications and schematics
Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently during installation processes
Cut, shape, and assemble Millboard decking panels to fit designated areas accurately
Ensure proper fixing of decking boards using appropriate fasteners and techniques
Collaborate with team members to complete projects within specified timeframes
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process to ensure standards are met
Assist with related tasks such as site preparation, minor repairs, or adjustments as required

Requirements

Proven experience in construction-related roles, preferably with knowledge of roofing, carpentry, or masonry
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques used in decking installation
Basic understanding of schematics, construction drawings, or technical plans
Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, plastering, or construction painting is advantageous but not essential
Ability to interpret technical instructions and work independently or as part of a team
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety procedures
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if necessary
Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are desirable
