As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Site Manager to join the team.
The Role
The Document Controller is responsible for the day to day management, coordination, and control of project documentation from commencement through to completion. This role ensures all project records, drawings, correspondence, and technical documents are accurately maintained, distributed, and archived in line with company procedures and project requirements. The Document Controller supports the smooth operation of construction projects by maintaining efficient document control systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and fostering strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams.

The Day to Day
· Manage and maintain all project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, submittals, technical specifications, reports, and correspondence.
· Ensure all incoming and outgoing documents are correctly logged, distributed, and filed in accordance with company procedures and project requirements.
· Maintain up-to-date document control registers and tracking systems to ensure accurate revision control across all project information.
· Coordinate the distribution of approved drawings and documentation to site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
· Liaise with project managers, site managers, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure documentation is issued and received within required timeframes.
· Monitor document workflows to ensure deadlines for submissions, approvals, and responses are met.
· Upload and manage documents on project management platforms and common data environments (CDEs) such as Procore, Aconex, Viewpoint, or SharePoint.
· Ensure all superseded drawings and documents are removed from circulation and archived appropriately.
· Assist with the preparation and compilation of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and handover documentation at project completion stage.
· Support the commercial and site teams with administrative duties related to project documentation and compliance.
· Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive project information and company records.
· Carry out regular audits of document control systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards are maintained.
· Attend project meetings when required and provide updates on document status, outstanding approvals, and information flow.
· Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, ISO procedures, and client requirements.
Who are you?
· Previous experience working as a Document Controller within the construction industry, preferably for a main contractor.
· Strong understanding of document control processes, procedures, and revision management.
· Proficient in using document management systems and common data environments (CDEs) such as Procore, Aconex, Viewpoint, or SharePoint.
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling project documentation.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across project teams.
· Confident liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments.
· Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
· Competent in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
· Understanding of construction drawings, technical documentation, and project workflows.
· Proactive, reliable, and able to prioritise workload effectively.
· Knowledge of ISO standards and document control best practices is desirable.
