Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and supporting the organisation’s accounting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in bookkeeping and proficiency in various accounting software to contribute to the financial health of our organisation.

Duties

Manage and record all financial transactions using recognised accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data
Process accounts payable and receivable efficiently and accurately
Maintain organised financial records, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and statutory requirements
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting processes as required

Experience

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within a professional environment
Proficiency in accounting software including Xero is essential
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
Experience managing accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple priorities effectively

This position is integral to maintaining the organisation’s financial integrity, requiring a proactive approach and strong technical skills. The successful candidate will be organised, reliable, and capable of supporting our finance team with precision and professionalism.

Pay: £24,420.00-£25,000.00 per year
