Experienced Hard Landscaper

Location: South Yorkshire
Job Type: Full-time/Permanent/ immediate start
Salary: From £22+ per hour (depending on experience)

We are looking for an experienced Hard Landscaper who takes genuine pride in their work and shares our commitment to quality craftsmanship.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently when required, but more importantly, will thrive in a team environment, helping to lead and support others while setting high standards through their work ethic and attitude.

At Craig Ritchie Construction, we specialise in high-quality hard landscaping with a strong focus on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism throughout every stage of the project.

From groundwork preparation to the final clean-down, every detail is carefully considered to ensure a durable, visually impressive result.

We also understand that having work carried out at a customer’s property can be disruptive, which is why we prioritise keeping every site tidy, safe, and organised throughout the project. Our goal is not only to produce exceptional work but to deliver an outstanding customer experience from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Installation of porcelain paving, natural stone paving, and block paving
Kerb edging and finishing works
Sub-base preparation and compaction (MOT Type 1)
Underground drainage installation
Concreting and foundation works
Setting out levels and working from plans
Operating plant and machinery where required
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience in hard landscaping, groundworks, or construction
Proven experience with paving, edging, drainage, and general hard landscaping works
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Good problem-solving skills and site awareness
Good understanding of health and safety practices
Punctual, reliable, and hard-working
Full UK driving licence

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience operating 360 excavators and dumpers
Relevant plant or construction qualifications
