Receptionist / Administrator
20-25 hours per week | Charles Hicks Centre, Huntingdon & Roman Gate Surgery, Godmanchester

About Us:
Hicks Group Practice has been serving our community since 1821. With two sites—Charles Hicks Centre and Roman Gate Surgery—we provide high-quality healthcare to over 17,200 patients. Our team includes 6 partners, 4 salaried GPs, advanced nurse practitioners, practice nurses, and healthcare assistants. We’re also a training practice, dedicated to developing the GPs and nurses of tomorrow.

The Role:
We’re looking for a friendly, motivated, and flexible Receptionist/Administrator to join our team. This role covers both sites and involves working 20-25 hours per week within set hours 2 morning shifts 8am - 1pm, 3 pm shifts 1-6pm and 1 of which finishes at 6:30pm, with some flexibility required.

Salary:

Starting rate: £12.72 per hour
After successful completion of 6 months probation: £13.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and book patients efficiently and courteously
Signpost patients to the correct team member or service
Relay messages between clinical staff and patients
Work effectively under pressure while prioritizing tasks
Deliver excellent customer service in a busy primary care environment

Candidate Requirements:

Excellent communication and customer service skills
Pleasant telephone manner
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Courteous, polite, and professional attitude
Experience in general practice or NHS and with SystmOne preferred but not essential (training provided)
