We are seeking an Assistant SENDCo to join our team at Epsom and Ewell High School, part of Bourne Education Trust.

Position: Assistant SENDCo

Contract: Term time plus 2 weeks, permanent

Hours: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Mon - Fri, 8am - 4pm)

Salary: Support Pay Scale 6 (Fringe) Surrey. FTE £31,658 - Pro rata £24,397

Responsible to: SENDCo and ultimately Headteacher

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the day-to-day administrative operations of the SEND department, ensuring all files, digital records, and pupil databases are updated in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice and statutory guidelines
Manage the administrative processing of SEND admissions and mid-term entries, ensuring a timely response to paperwork
Liaise administratively with feeder schools to coordinate the smooth transition of new pupils, including receiving, analysing, cataloguing, and securely archiving incoming SEND student files

Essential requirements include:

Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent qualification)
Proven track record of continuous professional development
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
