We’re looking for a Labourers to join our Major works team
As a Labourer, you’ll work in our Major Works t eam, assisting our tradespeople carry out repairs in our customers’ homes and empty properties. You’ll support different trades—such as joinery, plumbing, bricklaying, or roofing—to make sure the work can be completed safely and efficiently.
Your role is important in helping us deliver repairs on time, to a good standard, and in line with our values. You’ll work towards our targets for productivity, customer satisfaction, and service quality.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking for a career as a tradesperson but may not have and existing experience or qualification in a specific trade, we’ll invest in your development by giving you trade specific training so you can progress as a multi-skilled operative

What does a typical week look like as Labourer?
As a Labourer , you’ll be at the heart of providing our customers with safe secure homes.
- As you may imagine, this isn’t always easy, and requires strong work ethic, good communication skills and bags of resilience, a typical week could look as follows:
- You’ll start the week by being responsible for maintaining your van stock and ensure you have the right tools and equipment to work safely, always putting the customer first
- You’ll work with the major works team and respond to Major work requests, and resolving issues.
- You’ll support in removing damp & mould in or properties, this will involve applying mould spray / cleaning mould to remove the hazard.
- You’ll support our multi-skilled operatives in carrying out a range of plastering tasks, including surface preparation, skimming, rendering, patch repairs, ceiling restoration, and damp-proof plastering
- You’ll assisting a plumber by lifting and positioning pipework within a kitchen
- You’ll be on hand to help a roofer strip old tiles and clear debris safely.
- You’ll assist one of our bricklayers by mixing mortar and prepare work areas in repairing an external wall.
- You’ll support our multi-skilled operatives in removing old plaster, wallpaper, or loose materials to enable further works to take place.
- You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, using appropriate PPE, dust sheets, and overshoes to protect the property and show respect to the customer.
- Undertake other repairs involving plastering, brickwork, and other general building tasks as required and as directed, within your skill set.
- You’ll communicate with the planning team through our housing management system around the status of a job, ensuring records are accurate and customers stay well-informed throughout the process.
Record all your work on your PDA, updating job notes, taking photos when needed, and confirming when repairs are finished.

What would make you the ideal candidate?

It would be great if you had:
· Experience supporting a trade such as bricklaying, plumbing, joinery, or roofing.
· Experience installing or repairing UPVC double ‑ glazed windows
· Able to work in a busy environment, staying organised and managing different tasks at once.
· Full UK driving licence.
· Basic understanding of how homes are built, repaired, and maintained in the UK.
· Confident speaking with customers and able to communicate well with people at all levels.
· A strong team player who can also work on their own when needed.
· Comfortable using simple technology, like a PDA, to find information and record work details.
· A passion to become a Multi-skilled Tradesperson
