Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist specialising in 5-axis machining to join our precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, setting, and programming one of our Doosan machine's to produce high-quality components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technology and contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with a variety of materials, including plastics and metals.

Duties

Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machine with precision to produce complex parts according to detailed technical drawings and specifications.
Programme CNC machines using support from CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools.
Perform turning, milling, and other machining processes to achieve specified tolerances and surface finishes.
Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics accurately for manufacturing processes.
Assist in the development of tooling and fixtures necessary for production runs.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed during machine operation and handling of materials such as plastics injection moulding components.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and adhere to quality standards throughout production.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks; familiarity with CAM programming is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machining and assembly tasks.
Knowledge of grinding, milling, welding, and plastics injection moulding processes.
Basic mathematical skills for interpreting measurements and technical data accurately.
Understanding of safety standards related to machining operations and material handling.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in machining or manufacturing are preferred but not essential.
