Full job description

Family Support Worker – Supervised Family Contact

To support children and families during supervised contact sessions, ensuring that visits take place in a safe, positive, and child-focused environment. The Family Support Worker will observe interactions, promote healthy relationships, maintain accurate records, and contribute to safeguarding and family support plans.

Key Responsibilities

supervise contact sessions between children and their parents, family members, or carers.
Ensure the safety, welfare, and emotional wellbeing of children throughout contact visits.
Provide practical and emotional support to parents and children before, during, and after contact sessions.
Observe and objectively record interactions, behaviours, and significant events during contact visits.
Prepare clear, accurate, and factual reports for social workers, courts, and other professionals as required.
Support families in developing positive parenting skills and appropriate child-focused interactions.
Maintain professional boundaries while building positive working relationships with children and families.
Identify and report safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Assist with planning and arranging contact sessions, including transport and venue preparation where required.
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
