Job Overview:

Part Time Housekeeper

General Manager, Louis Vanhinsbergh, is on the lookout for a friendly, hard-working Housekeeper to join his crew.

At The Old Coastguard, we pride ourselves on warm Cornish hospitality, gorgeous views, and making every guest feel at home. That means our rooms need to shine, our spaces need to sparkle, and our guests need to feel truly cared for — and that’s where you come in.

This is a part-time role starting immediately, working around 16 - 20 hours a week over 3-4 days, with early starts from 7am (don’t worry, the coffee is strong) and most shifts finishing by 2pm — plenty of time to hit the beach, enjoy a pasty, or just relax. Great for anyone who loves a proper work life balance

Start date: Immediate Start

Pay: Up to £12.75 per hour (Dependent on age & experience) tips, pro rata to the number of hours worked
Hours: 16 - 20 Hours over 3-4 days per week including weekends (2 consecutive days off)

What you’ll be doing:

Turning bedrooms and bathrooms into guest-ready havens — changing linen, hoovering, dusting, polishing, restocking etc
Working efficiently to make sure rooms are ready on time for arriving guests — think speed, but with a sparkle.
Reporting any maintenance issues before they become “uh-oh” moments.
Making our guests feel at home, even if it’s just with a friendly smile as you pass by.
Keeping shared spaces - corridors, stairways, lounges, the restaurant, and guest toilets looking tip-top so guests feel instantly welcome
Jumping in wherever the team needs a hand — teamwork makes the dream work!

What we’re after:

If you’ve got an eye for detail and secretly love tidying up, you’ll fit right in.
A positive, can-do attitude and a bit of team spirit.
Someone who doesn’t mind a 7am start — the early bird really does get the sea view!
Experience is a bonus, but we’ll happily train the right person.
Flexibility to work part-time hours, including some weekends.
