Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated PCB Assembly Operative to join our manufacturing team. This role involves assembling printed circuit boards using various tools and techniques, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, good manual dexterity, and an understanding of electronic components and assembly procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Working hours 40 hours per week-

7:45am - 16:45pm - Mon-Thurs

7:45am - 13:45pm - Friday

Duties

Assemble printed circuit boards and electronic components in line with work instructions, drawings
Carry out manual assembly tasks, including component placement, hand soldering (where trained), SMT machinery (where trained) and sub‑assembly work
Conduct visual inspections to identify defects or non‑conformances
Follow quality standards and contribute to right‑first‑time production
Accurately complete production, quality, and traceability records
Handle electronic components correctly, including ESD‑sensitive items
Meet production targets while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area in line with 6S principles
Identify and report defects, shortages, or process issues to supervision
Support team flexibility by assisting across different assembly tasks as required
Follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Report any issues, defects, or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

Skills & Experience

Experience with hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology (SMT) is highly desirable.
Knowledge of electrical principles, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Previous experience in electronic assembly or related fields is advantageous.
Good organisational skills with an ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to handle small components carefully.
Basic understanding of electrical components and circuitry.
Ability to work methodically in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity are essential for success in this role.
Conversational level of verbal communication skills in English
