Full job description

About Us: Intech Environmental Limited is one of the UK’s leading industrial cleaning, confined space rescue and rope access companies. We are the trusted partner for businesses across the energy-from-waste, processing, steel, and foundry sectors. We are highly client focused, and our client’s needs remain at the heart of our service scopes.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add an experienced HGV Fitter / Technician to join our Workshop team. The role will involve service, repair and maintenance to a high standard, commercial vehicles from Vans to HGVs.

Location: You will be based at Intech Environmental Limited, Normanby Road, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN15 8QZ, and will be required to work at various locations as directed by the Company to meet the needs of the business.

You will not be required to work outside the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will have responsibility for:

Routine service and maintenance of vans and HGVs in line with DVSA standards
Complete MOT prep and inspections
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, legal requirements and company policies
Driving standards, safety and professionalism at all times
Use PPE and tools properly
Maintain a clean and organised workshop
Willing to work overtime, shifts, or call-outs when needed
Understand COSHH, manual handling, and risk assessments
Record keeping in conjunction with an office-based team

Qualifications

City and Guilds/NVQ level 3/BTEC or equivalent in engineering discipline
Must have a full driving licence (essential)
HGV licence minimum Class 2 (preferable)

Experience

Must have 3+ years’ experience of Commercial Vehicle / HGV fitting
Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
Knowledge of ancillary equipment desirable (Crane, Hydraulics, electrical etc)
PMI / MOT knowledge
Plant Maintenance experience advantageous
Some degree of flexibility may be necessary to accommodate occasional early starts and late finishes as and when required, including call-outs evenings and weekends
