Experienced Sprinkler Fitter / Sprinkler Installer
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Sprinkler Fitter / Sprinkler Installer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential properties. This is a hands-on role that demands technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of applicable fire codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems in full compliance with project specifications, NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, NFPA 13D, and relevant local building/fire codes.
Carry out 1st fix and 2nd fix installations, including mains, risers (wet and dry), sprinklers risera, and pre-action systems.
Install and commission pump rooms as part of complete fire protection systems.
Read and accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation diagrams.
Measure, cut, groove, thread, screw, assemble, and connect piping systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized plumbing equipment.
Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure full operational readiness.
Conduct routine maintenance inspections and testing in accordance with NFPA 25 to ensure systems operate effectively.
Troubleshoot faults in existing sprinkler systems and carry out necessary repairs or component replacements.
Collaborate effectively with construction teams, project managers, and other trades to coordinate schedules and maintain site safety.
Ensure all work complies with relevant health & safety regulations, NFPA standards, International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and local authority requirements.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sprinkler Fitter, Fire Sprinkler Installer, or in a similar plumbing/mechanical role within construction or maintenance.
Solid understanding of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Thorough knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, including NFPA 13 (Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems), NFPA 13R, NFPA 13D, and NFPA 25 (Standard for the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems).
Hands-on experience with pipe cutting, grooving, threading, and assembly techniques.
Experience installing 1st fix / 2nd fix, mains, risers (wet & dry), sprinker riser, pre-action systems, and pump room equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of plumbing systems and sprinkler installations.
Competent in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized plumbing equipment.
Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and layout work.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team with strong attention to detail.
Valid certifications (e.g., sprinkler fitter cscs, BAFSA, or equivalent) are preferred.
