Full job description

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Barista and Play Host for our Mini Me Role Play Centre. The role involves providing exceptional customer service to parents and children visiting our facility, preparing and serving beverages, and facilitating role-playing activities for children in a safe and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome parents and children as they enter the Mini Me Role Play Centre.
Provide information about our facility and the available role-playing activities.
Take orders and prepare a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and smoothies, following established recipes and procedures.
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the coffee bar area, including maintaining stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
Engage with children during role-playing activities, encouraging imaginative play and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
Monitor children to ensure they are following safety guidelines and behaving appropriately.
Assist with set-up and clean-up before and after each play session.
Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently, following cash handling procedures.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with customers and colleagues.
Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and implement new ideas for enhancing the customer experience.

Requirements:

Previous experience working in a customer service role, preferably in a cafe or childcare setting.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with children and adults.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for processing transactions and calculating change.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
A genuine interest in working with children and fostering their creativity and imagination.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and childcare is desirable.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
