Full job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated GP Medical Secretary to join our busy and friendly practice team on a zero-hours contract. Kingstone Surgery list has been expanding and our secretarial needs increasing. We currently have Tues-Thursday cover and are looking to trial locum cover on our other days and to cover annual leave. There may be an opportunity for a future permanent contract.

The successful candidate must have previous experience working within a GP practice and be proficient in the use of EMIS Web, ERS (Electronic Referral Service), Docman 10, and general medical administration processes.

Key Responsibilities

Typing letters, reports, and associated documentation as required.
Liaising with external agencies including hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
Maintaining an accurate referrals database.
Actioning all incoming Medical Secretary emails.
Scanning patient documentation and attaching records accurately to patient healthcare records.
Inputting data into patient healthcare records as required.
Processing referrals using the Electronic Referral Service (ERS).
Managing administrative queries in a timely manner.
Providing administrative support to clinical staff as required.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working in a GP surgery or primary care setting.
Excellent working knowledge of EMIS Web, ERS, and Docman 10.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Good IT skills

Pay: £14.02 per hour
