Job Summary

We are a small, family-run design and build company specialising in high-quality construction, refurbishment, and residential conversions. Working closely with architects, engineers, and professional consultants, we deliver tailored solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

As a growing business, we are looking for a motivated, organised and proactive Assistant Project Manager. The ideal candidate will use their knowledge, initiative, and strong organisational skills to help us maintain smooth project delivery and support our continued success.

The Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in supporting day-to-day project operations, coordinating with clients and professional teams, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle. You will work closely with the company director and project team to ensure that every project runs efficiently, professionally, and to the highest standard.

Duties

Communicate with potential clients, respond to inquiries, and arrange meetings.
Maintain clear records of all ongoing projects, including timelines, progress updates, and performance indicators.
Track and organise project expenses, invoices, and key financial documents.
Prepare procurement schedules, material lists, and purchase orders as required.
Liaise with architects, structural engineers, building control, quantity surveyors, and other professional parties.
Organise and maintain project documentation, reports, and correspondence.
Support the preparation of quotations, scopes of work, and client proposals.
Assist in coordinating site visits, contractor schedules, and supplier deliveries.

Requirements

Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Familiarity with construction terminology, workflows, or project management (preferred but not essential)
High attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude
Comfortable working in a small business environment and taking initiative

Benefits & Rewards

In addition to the basic salary, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to earn performance-based commission bonuses. This bonus structure is designed to reward initiative, commitment, and outstanding performance throughout the project lifecycle. Commission may be awarded based on contributions to successful project delivery, enhanced day-to-day project management, proactive problem-solving, effective coordination with clients and consultants, and the efficient management of projects from the pre-construction phase through to successful completion and handover.

The scheme is intended to recognise individuals who consistently add value to the business, help maintain high standards of quality and client satisfaction, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects. Full details of the commission structure will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.
