Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Summer Seasonal Waiter to join our vibrant hospitality team as we prepare to open our Summer Outdoor Urban Garden.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic restaurant environment, delivering exceptional guest service during the busy summer months. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring guests enjoy their dining experience, and supporting the smooth operation of the restaurant and Urban Garden.

Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. A positive attitude, good organisational skills, and a passion for service are essential qualities for this position.

Duties

Greeting guests warmly and seating them promptly
Taking food and beverage orders accurately using POS systems
Serving food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
Ensuring guest satisfaction by attending to their needs and queries courteously
Upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
Handling payments accurately and providing correct change or processing card transactions
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas
Assisting in food preparation or kitchen duties if required, adhering to food safety standards
Supporting team members during busy periods to ensure seamless service delivery

Skills

Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and serving protocols
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices is beneficial
Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus but not essential
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Willingness to learn new skills such as upselling techniques and food safety procedures

This role provides an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality to develop their skills in a lively summer environment while delivering memorable experiences for our guests.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
