We are looking for a talented and reliable Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Loch Rannoch Hotel, Spa & Estate, a 4-star country house hotel in one of Scotland’s most beautiful lochside locations.

We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
Is calm, organised and hands-on during service
Can support the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen
Takes pride in consistency, quality and presentation
Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
Can help support, coach and motivate other chefs
Is flexible and willing to work across different services and outlets
Has strong food safety awareness and good kitchen standards

Position Overview:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef, or a strong Junior Sous ready to step up, to take on a key role in a busy, quality-led kitchen. Working closely with our Head Chef, you will help lead the team, support daily kitchen operations and make sure food is delivered consistently and to a high standard across our outlets.

Our food and beverage operation includes The Wild Brownie Bar, our relaxed gastro-pub, and The Estate Room, our 1 AA Rosette à la carte restaurant.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being involved, keeping service organised, and helping the team perform.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Lead service from the pass and on section when required
Support breakfast, dinner and other food service operations
Help maintain consistency, quality and pace across every service
Coach and support junior chefs and kitchen team members
Assist with prep, stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
Support menu preparation and daily kitchen planning
Help create a positive, professional and hands-on kitchen culture
Deputise for the Head Chef when required

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef
Experience working in a busy hotel or 100+ cover restaurant
Good understanding of kitchen operations, prep and service flow
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexible approach to shifts, sections and service needs
Right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship
