As we expand, we are seeking a Practice Manager to strengthen our leadership team and elevate our operational, governance, and service standards. This role sits between a CQC Manager and a Medical director, offering senior responsibility and strategic influence while remaining closely connected to day‑to‑day clinic and theatre operations.
Role Purpose
The Clinical Practice Manager provides high‑level operational, administrative, HR, governance, and service leadership across Seon Vision. You will ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and patient‑focused delivery of all clinic and theatre services.
You will oversee daily operations, staff coordination, patient pathways, procurement, systems, compliance, stakeholder relationships, and business development activity.
You will support the Medical Director and CQC Lead in delivering exceptional care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational & Clinical Service Leadership
- Oversee daily clinic and theatre operations, ensuring smooth patient flow and timely service delivery.
- Identify delays early and take decisive action to maintain efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Supervise, train, and support staff across reception, diagnostics, admission, discharge, and theatre support.
- Maintain oversight of all bookings (outpatients, diagnostics, theatre).
- Lead and train staff to closing conversations with surgical patients (payment, finance and scheduling).
- Oversee ordering processes
- Manage service schedules and equipment servicing
- Troubleshoot technical issues across the clinic
2. Governance, CQC & Quality Assurance
- Lead CQC readiness, audits, action plans, data protection/GDPR and compliance monitoring.
- Oversee daily/weekly/monthly checks are completed and documented.
- Maintain and update policies, SOPs, patient information, and outbound communications.
- Manage risks and incidents, ensuring learning and appropriate escalation.
- Oversee statutory and mandatory training compliance for all staff.
3. Staff Leadership, HR & Culture
- Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams (admin, technicians, nursing, theatre support).
- Manage rotas, leave, appraisals, 1:1s, performance conversations, and recruitment.
- Support recruitment of staff as company expands
- Onboard consultants, nurses, technicians, and allied health staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, excellence, and patient‑centred care.
4. Financial, Commercial & Insurance Management
- Oversee consultant billing, insurance remittances, and billing issue resolution.
- Manage procurement, stock control, PO processing, and supplier relationships.
- Monitor accounts payable/receivable and keep up to date
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
5. Patient Experience & Stakeholder Engagement
- Champion exceptional patient experience across all touchpoints.
- Represent SEON Vision in meetings with external clients, Industry and commercial partners
- Ensure timely communication with patients, optometrists, and referrers.
- Maintain strong relationships with community optometrists, LOCs, insurers, suppliers, and NHS partners.
- Oversee CPD event planning, accreditation, and delivery.
6. Strategic Development
- Continue to build upon existing referral pathways and improve conversion rates
- Continue to build and increase operational capacity and develop new partnerships
- Contribute to business cases, service development expansion, and strategic planning.
- Analyse performance data, capacity, KPIs, and market trends.
- Support website updates, marketing initiatives, and patient acquisition.
- Host and organise key stakeholder leadership meetings
7. Risk management

Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ healthcare management experience (private sector or surgical setting preferred).
- Strong operational leadership in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
Desirable
- Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Knowledge of CQC, governance, quality standards, and risk management.
- Experience with medical billing, insurance claims, and financial oversight.
- Ophthalmology experience
- Basic Financial literacy
- Experience with electronic patient records and booking systems
- First aid training.
- Experience delivering CPD events.
