Full job description

We are seeking a full-time on-site Data Cabling Engineer. As a Data Cabling Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining data communications and security equipment, and network cabling infrastructure for our clients. You will be expected to follow technical plans, install wiring and troubleshoot network connectivity issues, which may occur in Telecommunication, Security and IT network projects.

Previous experience listed is desirable but not essential, we are willing to train an inexperienced candidate who demonstrates enthusiasm, reliability and a commitment to learning. The advertised salary will be negotiated depending on experience.

Qualifications/Skills

Experience working in a similar role or in the Telecommunications, Security or IT network field.
Technical knowledge of network cabling, including the ability to read drawings, use cable testers and understand industry standards.
Experience in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a and fiber optic.
Ability to work independently while prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to work with clients.
The ability to work effectively in a team enrironment.
A valid driving license and the ability to travel to the company office based in Merthyr Tydfil is essential. A company vehicle is provided for work related duties.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, as well as being physically fit and able to carry heavy items.
A valid ECS or CSCS card are desirable.
IPAF or PASMA qualifications are desirable.

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be appointed on completion of a Basic Disclosure, criminal record check and background check which requires 5 years employment/education referencing.
Hours of work Monday-Friday 0830-1700, flexibility required.
Overtime rates applicable.
Advertised salary is negotiable based on experience.
